YouPick Privacy Policy

YouPick is operated by WeStay Technologies ("we," "us"), based in Kapolei, Hawaiʻi, USA. This policy explains what data the YouPick iOS app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account using Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In, we receive your name and email address (or Apple's private relay email if you choose "Hide My Email"). We do not collect phone numbers or passwords.
Food preferences and dietary information. During onboarding and while using the app, you may provide cuisine preferences, dietary restrictions, and food allergies. We treat allergy and dietary data as sensitive information: it is used only to personalize your food suggestions and filter unsafe results, and is never sold or used for advertising.
Location. With your permission, we use your device's precise location to find restaurants near you. Your location is sent to Google Places (to search restaurants) and to our AI suggestion service (to ground recommendations) at the moment you request a pick. You can deny or revoke location access in iOS Settings; the app remains usable without it.
Usage activity. We record in-app activity such as picks you accept or skip, group sessions you join, and feature usage, in order to improve suggestions and operate group voting.
Profile photos. If you upload an avatar, it is stored on our infrastructure and served via a publicly accessible URL so other members of your groups can see it. Do not upload an image you are not comfortable being publicly reachable by URL.
Group content. WePick sessions involve content you share with your group (votes, session participation, challenge results). This content is visible to other members of that group.
Purchase information. Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status and receive purchase records and device identifiers from Apple/RevenueCat. We never see your payment card details.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time inside the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account). Deletion is processed server-side and removes your account, preferences, and profile data. Residual group-session records (such as votes in active group sessions) are automatically purged within a short expiration window after the session ends.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under GDPR and the California Consumer Privacy Act), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, use the in-app deletion flow or contact us at privacy@youpickfood.app. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children
YouPick is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
We will post updates to this policy on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be communicated in the app.
